Has anyone noticed how similar spouses and toddlers are? Seriously, every time a newlywed or little kid does something of worth, whether or not it was actually impressive or not, the parent of that child or the spouse of that newlywed thinks it’s the best thing ever, and soon, every social media outlet becomes a tool to convey their loved one’s accomplishment.
Wife: “Tim drove all the way to work today! And then he got paid! Look at how handsome he is.” (picture of semi-enthused dude sitting in the driver’s seat of a Hyundai)
Mother: “Ella sure loves cereal! #toddler #parenting #lovemykid.” (picture of a cute blonde 1.5 year old with cereal on her face, and you’ve seen 34 pics of this kid in the last 22 hours, effectively downgrading the kid from cute to “where’s that ‘unsubscribe’ button.” Oh yeah, the pics are Facebook, rendering the hashtags useless.)
Different people, yet they draw the exact same response from those around them.
Hey. The new album by The Wonder Years is really good. Major improvement from the last one, and for the band in general. Go get it. Give your ears some good feels.
